1960年代にアメリカで花開き、世界的なムーブメントを巻き起こしたポップ・アート。アーティストたちは日常にありふれた広告や雑誌、メディア、ニュースなど、人々の生活に直結したシンボルを表現の中に取り入れ、色鮮やかに、そしてシニカルに社会の姿を描いてきました。本展では、ポップ・アートを牽引したアーティスト、ロイ・リキテンスタイン、アンディ・ウォーホル、ロバート・ラウシェンバーグ、ジャスパー・ジョーンズら4人を、同じ60年代に人気を博したザ・ビートルズの愛称「FAB4（The Fabulous 4＝素晴らしい4人）」になぞらえご紹介します。
