平安時代から現代までの俳人、茶人、戦国武将、僧侶などの掛け軸や屏風、書物、原稿など1万2000点を収蔵しており、定期的な展示替えによって訪れるたびに新しい作品に出会うことができます。また、敷地内には東京の河野邸から移築された茶室もあります。
