Giovanni Francesco Romanelli

At age 14, Romanelli went to Rome to study art and within a few years became part of Cardinal Francesco Barberini's household.¹

Romanelli began assisting Cortona on the decoration of the Palazzo Barberini in 1631.¹

In 1646, Romanelli moved to Paris at the invitation of Cardinal Mazarin, where he undertook fresco decorations.¹
