Francesco Solimena (Italian, 1657–1747)

OctFrancesco Solimena was born on October 4, 1657, and died on April 3, 1747, at the age of 89.¹

Around 1725, he created the fresco 'The Expulsion of Heliodorus from the Temple' at the Gesù Nuovo church in Naples.¹

In 1728, he was commissioned to paint 'Gundacker von Althan Offering the Imperial Picture Gallery Catalogue to Emperor Charles VI' for the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.¹
