Arkhyp Kuindzhi (Arkhip Ivanovich Kuindzhi)

JanArkhip Kuindzhi was born on January 27, 1841, in the Russian Empire (present-day Mariupol, Ukraine).¹

Arkhip Kuindzhi received a Bronze Medal at the International Art Exhibition in London in 1874.¹

Arkhip Kuindzhi created "Moonlit Night on the Dnieper" in 1880.¹

JulArkhip Kuindzhi died on July 24, 1910, in the Russian Empire (present-day St. Petersburg).¹

JanIn January 2019, Arkhip Kuindzhi's work "Ai-Petri. Crimea" was stolen from the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow but was recovered safely the next day.¹

MarOn March 21, 2022, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Kuindzhi Art Museum was damaged in a Russian airstrike during the siege of Mariupol.¹
